Banning
simulcasting of dog racing -
Nearly 9,000 racing greyhounds are destroyed every year
when they get too old and too slow to be profitable.
In the House Democrats’ recent episode of "i
on PA", meet
two lucky retired dogs from Florida who have found a
good home and see how the state is looking to strengthen
its dog-racing ban to better protect the friendly
animals.

The model and spokesperson for the North Shore Animal Rescue League poses in
high fashion from Halston and Marchesa with rescued dogs from Pittsburgh's
own Steel City Greyhounds. “My request is for people to never buy from a pet
store and to visit their local shelter. If people want to buy a purebred,
they should know that 25 percent of the animals at shelters are purebred,”
Stern told WHIRL.
